Our Story: Built on People, Driven by Relationships
At Pro Rain, our greatest asset is our people and our history. We are the kind of company that customers trust and enjoy working with—because we put people first.
Aaron and Amy Asmus founded Pro Rain in the late 1980s, launching both their business and their marriage with a shared commitment to excellence and service. From the very beginning, their vision was to build a company rooted in relationships, family values, and community.
For nearly 40 years, Pro Rain has grown into a thriving family business with a loyal and expanding customer base. The sprinkler industry is unique in that we interact with our customers multiple times a year, allowing us to form lasting connections. Since we were born and raised here, many of our team members are family, friends, or valued members of the local community.
In 2025, Aaron and Amy made the decision to pass the torch to Andrew Gillmore and Josh Niemer that share their values and commitment to exceptional service. While ownership has changed, the heart of the business remains the same—dedicated to providing the best products, outstanding service, and lasting relationships with our customers.
Though the next chapter has begun, the foundation of Pro Rain remains strong: built on people, rooted in trust, and committed to serving our community for years to come.
Meet the Owners
Andrew’s passion for lawn care began at an early age. Growing up in Perrysburg, he started mowing lawns at just 10 years old, using his parents' mower to keep neighborhood yards looking pristine—often for free. His dedication to perfectly straight lines and meticulous care quickly earned him paying customers, teaching him the importance of strong client relationships, high-quality service, and a strong work ethic.
Over the years, Andrew’s passion evolved into a thriving business, expanding to serve hundreds of residential and commercial clients in and around Perrysburg. His commitment remains the same: to provide exceptional lawn and landscape services while delivering outstanding customer care.
In 2025, Andrew took his expertise to the next level by acquiring Pro Rain alongside Joshua. Having spent years perfecting the look of healthy, well-maintained lawns, he recognized the essential role irrigation plays in sustaining them. Now, as a business owner, he is excited to continue growing Pro Rain’s reputation for reliability and excellence.
Andrew and his wife, Lindy, are Perrysburg natives raising their family in the community they love. They take pride in supporting local events and helping make Perrysburg an even better place to live.
Meet the Owners
Like Andrew, Joshua’s passion for a well-manicured lawn started at a young age. Born and raised on the west side of Cincinnati, he grew up with yard work as a regular chore—picking up sticks, pulling weeds, mowing the lawn, and mulching flower beds. Over time, he realized he could turn this work into something more rewarding than just an allowance.
Throughout middle and high school, Joshua worked for two lawn and landscape companies, gaining valuable experience in commercial lawn maintenance. While his education and, ultimately, his wife kept him in Northwest Ohio, he remained connected to his passion. During college, he worked at Bostdorff Greenhouse Acres in Bowling Green, where he became a crew leader.
After more than a decade of hard work in landscaping, Joshua was ready for a new challenge. He joined Tony Buff Custom Homes, shifting his focus from the exterior to the entire homebuilding process. Now, as a Superintendent, he oversees nearly every aspect of construction, working closely with skilled tradesmen—including Aaron Asmus, the original owner of Pro Rain.
Through his collaboration with Aaron on new home sprinkler installations, Joshua saw firsthand the impact of a high-quality irrigation system. So when Aaron decided to sell the business, Joshua and Andrew seized the opportunity to acquire Pro Rain. While he continues his role with Tony Buff Custom Homes, he is excited to step into the entrepreneurial world, further enhancing and building upon Pro Rain Lawn Sprinklers’ strong reputation.
Joshua and his wife, Rachael, live in Northwest Ohio with their three-year-old daughter, JoJo, and newborn son, Noah. They love spending time outdoors and being part of the local community.
